Posted by Charles Cox - On September 07, 2010 (EST)

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and Larry Sherwood released its report, U. S. Solar Market Trends 2009. The report discusses how solar markets are booming in the United States due to rising energy prices, strong consumer demand, and financial incentives from the federal government, states and utilities. Over 107,000 new solar heating, cooling, and solar electric installations were completed in 2009, an increase of 18% compared to the number of systems installed in 2008. This means job growth and expansion for many workers and new green career opportunities for Americans.
