STEM Careers Quarterly Webinar Series: Environmental Science Careers

In the first on this series, on June 6, 2011, Liesl Hotaling, Co-PI of the SENSE IT project, moderated this event and provided context and resources. Thomas Harmon, Professor and Associate Dean at the University of California - Merced shared some of his work on Environmental Observatory Science and talked about the range of careers available in this inter-disciplinary field. Mike Hall of the Marine Technology Society, spoke about how MTS encourages and supports students as well as professionals in the ocean sciences filed. Kimberly Keats, Ph.D. Candidate in Biology, Ocean Sciences Centre - University of Newfoundland, Canada , shared her reasons for studying and pursuing a career in this field. The event closed with Q&A and resources for guidance counselors, educators, and students.
