Guide to State and Local Workforce Data (2nd Edition)

The U.S. Employment and Training Administration’s Office of Workforce Investment has released the second edition of its popular Guide to State and Local Workforce Data, which incorporates a number of additions and improvements.

New data sources for many topics, including

• employment projections;
• educational degree attainment;
• the 2010 census;
• a customized tool for state-level data using the Census Bureau’s annual income and poverty supplement (used to produce poverty rates);
• health insurance;
• multiple jobholders;
• labor surplus areas;
• business births and deaths;
• inflation;
• criminal offenders;
• homelessness; and
• longitudinal data sources;

Additional links and revisions for the data sources previously in the Guide.

Indicators within each topical section to make it easy for users to locate the sources that have the most recent and most geographically-detailed sources, and/or sources that include demographic data (e.g., gender, race, age, etc.), using a key found on the Table of Contents page; and

A hyperlinked Table of Contents, allowing the user to immediately jump to a given section of the Guide.
